Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the "Text to Google Calendar" Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Information We Access
The Extension accesses the following information only when you actively use it:
- Selected text: Text you explicitly select on a webpage and choose to convert into a calendar event.
- Google account profile: Your basic profile information (email and name) to display which account is signed in.
- Google Calendar access: Permission to create events on your primary Google Calendar.
How Information Is Used
- Selected text is sent to our backend service, which uses an AI language model to extract event details (title, date, time, location, etc.).
- The extracted event data is used to create events in your Google Calendar.
- Your Google authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser only and never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Data Storage and Sharing
- The Extension does not store your selected text, calendar events, or any personal data on our servers.
- Selected text is processed in real time by an AI service and is not retained after processing.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.
- Your Google OAuth tokens are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device except when used to authenticate directly with Google's APIs.
Third-Party Services
The Extension integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Calendar API: Used to create events. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- AI Language Model: Selected text is sent to a language model API for parsing into structured event data.
Limited Use Disclosure
The Extension's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide the calendar event creation feature requested by the user.
- We do not transfer Google user data to others except as necessary to provide the service.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have explicit consent or it is necessary for security or legal purposes.
Your Rights
You can revoke the Extension's access to your Google account at any time by:
- Clicking "Logout" within the Extension
- Visiting your Google Account permissions page and removing access
- Uninstalling the Extension
